Notes on evidence:

The Liber Albus of the corporation, compiled in 1419 under the direction of John Carpenter (d. 1442), Common Clerk of the City. Identifiable in the list of books in the custody of the Corporation, c. 1470. Fols. 16–39 are earlier in date (s. xiv in.) and appear to have been part of the 'Liber Custumarum'.
