Notes on evidence: | These fragments are from a choirbook that concords with music in the Old Hall Manuscript, where they are placed next to an Agnus dei ascribed to Robert Chirbury (d. 1454), dean of St Mary's. The book from which these fragments were taken, a copy of Caxton's Sarum Legenda of 1488 (BL IB.40010), has a certain post-medieval provenance for Warwick. The choirbook may therefore be identifiable in the inventory of 1465 (SC319.16). |
