| Notes on evidence: | The secundo folio 'de exordio' (from Jerome's prefatory epistle to the Paulinus) corresponds to that given for a bible in a memorandum of books loaned to the Coventry charterhouse in 1500 (PRO, E 135/2/44), as noticed by D. Williman in Transactions of the Cambridge Bibliographical Society 11 (1999), 429. But there is no other evidence to tie the book to the house other than this. |
