Ownership: | Slingesby family (living near Fountains): Sir Henry Slingesby 1647 (fol. 4r). Given 1699 to Dr. William Nicholson, archdeacon (later bp.) of Carlisle by the bp's chaplain Galfrid' Wybergh. Nicholson died as archbishop of Cashel 1726 and the book passed to the family of Daniel Hearn, archdeacon of Cashel. Belonged to one Daniel Hearn 1816 whence it came to Clongowes Jesuit College (founded 1814): date of accession unrecorded. Contemporary binding of thick wooden boards covered with a leather jacket. The spine has projections at top and bottom. Two clasps fastening on to lower cover now missing. |
Notes: | The formula is in a slightly later hand than the rest, occupying fols 130–139. Vol. consists of 140 fols parchment 10"x 6" , in original boards and leather cover.
