Note of gift by Matthew Paris in his own hand (fol. 6v, part erased): 'Hunc librum dedit frater Matheus parisiensis [ . . . . . . . ] anima Mathei et anime omnium fidelium defunctorum requiescant in pace amen'. |

Ownership: | Humfrey of Lancaster, 1st duke of Gloucester (1390–1447): 'Ceste livre est a moy Homffrey duc de Gloucestre' (fol. 231r, erased). Note by John Russell (d. 1494), bishop of Lincoln, that if the book can be proved to have belonged to and to belong to St Albans, then he is willing to regard it as on loan from the monks, otherwise he bequeaths it to the College of St Mary Winton at Oxford, i.e. New College.
