"Anno domini MCCXLVIII dedit dompnus abbas et conventus de Kayrlion conventui de Heyles ad instantiam domini Ricardi comitis Cornubie egregii fundatoris illius domus et fratris domini Henrici regis Anglie tertii hunc librum", on the first leaf in large green capitals.

Inscription given by Bernard and in the 1935 sale cat. and paraphrased in Philipps catalogue.
