Notes on evidence:

Written by a "scriptix". A note on fol. ii recto, written A. D. 1150, apparently concerns especially St Edburga (1st abbess of Nunnaminster), whose name and King Alfred's are in capitals each time they occur. 

Medieval binding: the pastedowns are from monastic accounts A. D. 1334 and include an item "pro petris de selborne" (for Selborne quarries and their use for bindings at Winchester in the Middle Ages see V. C. H. Hants., vol. 5).
