One of the missing leaves at the front probably bore evidence of Buildwas provenance reported by Thomas Phillipps in his catalogue of Samuel Butler's MSS, of which this was one. Buildwas provenance is, however, certain. If not by the same scribe, the MS is certainly from the same scriptorium as Oxford, Christ Church, lat. 88 (A. G. Watson, Catalogue of Dated and Datable Manuscripts c. 435–1600 in Oxford Libraries (Oxford 1984), 2. pl. 75.
