John Sperhawk, who signed the book, bequeathed 'to the house of Syon where Master Thomas Westhaw presides' the book of medicine he wrote with his own hand (Somerset Medieval Wills 1383–1500, ed. F. W. Weaver, Somerset Rec. Soc. 16 (1901), 224). Westhawe is recorded in the catalogue as the donor of the book to the abbey.
