Notes on evidence: | Label under horn of 2nd cover: 'Sermo ad clerum Compendium iusticie commutatiue cum aliis. 2o fo. venerunt. Raynolde' (letters underlined are red). Not in Betson's catalogue. Richard Reynolds gave many books to Syon, and this label is in the typical form. The contents have no connection with the binding, apart from fol. 17 which was the end pastedown. They were probably inserted in s. xix. The binding has a double panel and a frame of a Fleur de Lys roll (= Oldham no. 272, and p. 77). Rebacked binding, temp Hen. VIII. |
