Notes on evidence: | 'Liber Canonicorum Sancte marie De [... linga]' (fol. 6v), s. xii ex., above table of contents. Last word erased, but 'linga' is pretty certian, and the first letter is probably S. There does not seem room for more than two letters between S and l. ? Read Semlingam. Contents include two letters to St Gilbert of Sempringham (s. xii ex.), and on the end binding leaf a copy of a letter from the rector of Somerby, near Grantham, dated 1462 (Somerby is 9 miles West from Sempringham). |
