The Battle letter-mark is in this book. Leland saw reference to the Historia Brittonum at Battle ('tantum in indice'). Sir John Prise found a copy at Brecon, a cell of Battle, and noted that it had been brought there from Battle by one of the monks, a detail that fits with Leland's comment. D. Huws in National Library of Wales Journal 17 (1971–2) 314–20, also argued that this is the historical volume once owned by Prise and now divided across this MS and Bodl. ME e Musaeo 93 (s. xiimed). |
