Author/Title: | [Hieronymus;] Bernardus, Ricardus de S. Victore; etc. |
Type of evidence: | s: evidence from the style of script or illumination |
Notes on evidence: | The acceptance of the Lanthony provenance is tentative and based on the script, which looks like Lanthony style. "D. M." in margins (pt. ii). The entry in the catalogue that would correspond to this volume ('Bernardus de gracia et libero arbitrio. Chirt') makes reference to the vicar of Cherington, a priory manor in east Gloucestershire, who held a clutch of priory books. Reference to this would be expected in the book itself but is not found; however, it would have been on a flyleaf that was lost when these leaves were combined with two other units to form the present volume. |
