Binding of red velvet, faded to brown, over boards: 2 metal clasps (1 now lost, the 2nd incomplete); metal corner pieces, and 5 flat bosses on each cover; label formerly on front cover (framents of green silk and nails used for securing the binding remain). This is a binding made for Henry VIII (cf. Queen's Coll. 317, 323; Bodl. Auct D.1.15). Title "Augustinus super Psalterium" at head of fol. 1r, probably in Leland's hand. Inscription above this, probably "Liber monasterii eveshamie", erased.
